Tray investigation presentation

1) What did you notice you need to improve on that you did not realize until you watched the video?
I kept my hands in my pockets a lot. Which I should not do. I sorta moved around a lot while I was up there. I think I could have made more eye contatct at times. ( When I am trying to remember something I tend to look at my feet. :p) And also, I talked too fast!

2) How will you improve the next time you have to give a presentation?
I could talk with my hands more. I didn't really use them during the presentation. I will also probably have the other people talk more. That would make it easiear for me, :), because I would not have to remember as much.

3) What do you think your group as a whole could improve if you had to give your presentation again?
The other people in my group could have talked louder. Even for me being right next to them I still could barely hear them.
I could give the other people in my group more to talk about. I did most of the talking because they really didn't want to do that much up there. And, we could have practiced more. This might have helped the other people in my group not rely on powerpoint to read, and we could have caught some errors we made. Also, next time we need to ask for questions. This would probably give people a better chance of learning more about our presentation. ( that probably would have made our presentation a little bit longer. We could slow down alot. I noticed on youtube that our presentation was only 3 minuets 23 seconds long. I think It could have lasted a little bit longer. Another thing I noticed that you can't see on the video on youtube(but I just thought about) Our powerpoint could have been less filled with information.

Over all I think we did a GOOD JOB, but it COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER. :p

What new insights have you gained about technology issues?

I have learned that technology can't answer or solve anything, like it seems it can. People are becoming too dependent on technology. We are now able to use things like internet to get our answers. This helps up learn pretty much nothing. Except how to type in a question on google. We are becoming smarter yet dumber when it comes to tech. we don't work for the answers anymore. So we learn nothing. But it is helping us become smarter when it comes to things like medicine.

What confusions or questions dod you have about the technology issues.

I don't understand why people are coming so dependent on tecnology. Why can't we resist using it?

Technology can tell us how to use it, but yet we also use it. We sometimes think that technology can be used in a certain way but yet it can be used in more than what we think. We see a ruler being used to measure but, we don't think about how it can be used different.

The trays are very hard to figure out and hard to document because of the limitation we have. The one limitation, only the marble can go in the middle, makes things complicated. Science ideas can easily change. We were thinking that it was a triangle, but it may not even be a shape. there might also be something on the cardboard that is catching the marble.

Scientists clean up ideas so that people can understand them. If they put their normal ideas in a journal they may not understand them. Which would be quite confusing.

I have came up with some ideas that might work to figure it out. Take a camera and try and get a picture of what is under it without it going under the middle. Or use a mirror to look under. But that might make another rule from mr.kruse (god of the boxes may not let us use)

What are some of the downsides or negative effects of technology?

There are many downsides to technology. Even if there are good things to. Some of the downsides are:

People can be easily distracted. For example; if you let a kid use a computer in school they can play games on it and not listen to whoever is talking.

Some people will sit on a couch all day and play video games or go on the computer which may keep them from doing other things.

Ipod's or MP3 players can damage a persons hearing. If they turn up the headphones too loud it can possibly be damaging.

It can cause people to be constantly working. They can be reached at home by cell phones, text, email or many other devices.

Some people get addicted to certain technology.

If someone is trying to figure something out and they have used a computer all their life that might be all they think about to use.

Why do we not usually think about the negative impact of tech?

Because everyone thinks the technology will always help us. Even when they know it is damaging.

Global Warming

What do I believe is the cause of global warming?
Humans putting out too many greehouse fases, but...
http://globalclimatechange.jpl.nasa.gov/news/index.cfm?FuseAction=ShowNews&NewsID=32

After viewing this website it seems like it is more of a global climate change instead of global warming. It shows that climate change explains the global warming of the Earth and, the other things greehouse gases do, and will affect.

Should be be concerned?
I don't think we should be too concerned, but yet we should be concerned. I think that some people think too much about global warming being the cause of all the changes that are happening to the Earth. Because mostly all we should be concerned about is how much greenhouse gases we put out.

What action should humans take?
Humans should watch how much greenhouse gases the put out. This includes how much the pollute things.

Thoughts about using the computer

I like using the computers. It is easiear to find information and the sort of help get and answer for things. Even though some answers aren't all on the internet for things, it helps get to the answer. The only problem with them is that the could be a distraction. But not a very big one.
